Welcome, bonjour!
Call me Victorine. I’m a Louisiana-born, French-American writer, communications consultant, and food & wine tour guide. After 14 years in New York City, I made Paris my home in 2021. I’m also a devoted reader, ice cream aficionado, ballet dancer, and mother to two cats.
Stories, words, and ideas inspire me—especially those rooted in Paris.
Blue Paris is where I write about living deeply and consciously in the City of Light. It’s about books, food, wandering, rest, and the quiet practice of paying attention. I also touch on digital minimalism, mindful routines, and trying to be more present. This newsletter doesn’t shy away from anxiety, absurd French bureaucracy, or the reality of spending Friday nights at the local laundromat rather than at a cool bar with friends.
Like the color blue, this space holds both joy and sorrow. It’s the real Paris—messy, paradoxical, sometimes beautiful, sometimes mundane.
Why subscribe?
Most newsletters about Paris offer curated guides and reviews. Blue Paris is different. You’ll still get thoughtful recommendations—books, restaurants, holes-in-the-wall—but also essays on the unfiltered, more complex sides of Parisian life.
Free subscribers receive:
• A monthly roundup on the first Monday of each month: what I read, what I ate, where I walked, and how I practiced digital minimalism.
• Bonus deep dives into topics I love: eating seasonably, poetry, sustainability, mindful habits, hidden corners of the city, and beyond.
Paid subscribers receive:
• Weekly Monday missives with personal essays, reflections, and new discoveries.
• Exclusive content: deep dives into French bureaucracy, personal finance, places where tourists don’t go, and the things no one tells you about living in Paris.
• My gratitude for supporting the time and effort that goes into publishing this newsletter.
• For founding members: a handwritten thank-you note from Paris, sent via snail mail.
If you think of Paris not just as a place, but as an experience and a contradiction, this newsletter is for you. I’d love for you to join me.
Merci beaucoup !
